Radiohead @ Victoria park - 25th June 2008

The gig was definitely amazing. Walking in, it felt like a festival cause there was just so many people and all the food stalls on the side and all that. Not forgetting the massive long queues for the toilet.
It was a beautiful day also, as you can see from the photos above…nice hot sun with clear blue skies!

Opening the evening was Bat For Lashes and her backup band, The Blue Dreams. Pretty interesting band i must say. Her vocals kinda remind me of Bjork, in a good way of course. Radiohead must have handpicked the band themselves, so it has to be up-to-standard right?! Musically, they were all playing multi-instruments and has this slight electronica / electro (maybe it was the dressing) vibe to them. Overall, a very good opening band!

Radiohead @ Victoria park - 25th June 2008

Radiohead played mostly songs from the last 2 albums as you can see from the setlist. But they definitely played a couple more old songs (especially from OK Computer) on wednesday night! I was lucky enough to have a preview of the whole gig on tuesday also, as i happened to live round the corner of Victoria park! (Big ups the E3 massive! :D )

Radiohead @ Victoria park - 25th June 2008

My favourite songs of the night include: Nude, There there, Lucky, No Surprises, Everything in its right place, Idioteque, My Iron Lung, Karma Police, Paranoid Android.

I was quite sad that they didn’t play a few songs like: True Love Waits! I was waiting whole night for that song….armed with my camera…ready to take a video…but it never got played!

Radiohead @ Victoria park - 25th June 2008

Maybe it’s meant to be….i’ll probably get to hear that song the next time i catch them live!
For now, i will not be greedy. And just be thankful that i caught them live.
To my friends who’s all going for the Radiohead gigs in Japan….you guys will have fun!!

Hi Mark..thanks for viewing! They started slightly after 8pm over here in London. They played for about 3.5 hrs in total. You’re gonna enjoy it! :]

thx so much for uploading this - i had a massive commute to get home so had to leave just before the end for the rail connections to work [how GUTTED?] ..but anyway, whilst standing at the overland at hackney (half a mile?) well after the power of the speakers had died i heard suddenly EVERYONE singing karma police 40,000 peeps holding a note - unbelievable - THANKS AGAIN FOR THE VID POST- completes the picture! …what an incredible night

..big love from cirencester!

Vortex June 27th, 2008 at 9:14 pm

Hey Mark….wow cirencester…how many hours did it take for you to get home from London?! You should have stayed one night in London man!!!

Yea Karma police was definitely the highlight for everyone at the show, im pretty of that!!!

Best encore ever in my life!

mark sunner June 28th, 2008 at 12:15 am

ARGH! i knew it - “best encore” .. the fact the i could hear it from the station.. ..i kept telling myself tHIS is all part of it ..hearing everyone else from a station platform ..did not matter seeing the last few - when all along i alway knew - F*&£@ing DAM IT! took all of 1.5hrs to get home - whilst i kept willing a jam or some such to justify early departure. as i closed the garage door on the car i pretty much knew i’d f+-=ed up.

anyways, HOOLA!! from cirencester - when we’re not twirling corn in out teeth and talking about butter there’s a fare to middin’ live sound bubblin’ here in the ‘aert of the costwolds [rolls corn in teeth] ;-)

Going to O.T. on Sunday pending tickets arriving in the morning !!!! Cracking site

Sam Goudie June 28th, 2008 at 11:50 am

Took me two hours to get to Earls Court from the gig! So worth it though, was up at 5 to get to London!

Cheers for the setlist, gonna make it into a playlist! :)

rob June 29th, 2008 at 12:51 am

i’ve heard them all before, and to know they didn’t play the 3 big ones on the tuesday lets me know the band still have A BIT of balls like they did on the Kid A tour.
they should play whatever they want to.
not what your gay dependant arse cares for.
OMG PARANOID ANDROID MY LIFE IS COMPLETE.
stop caring. their lives are not yours.

Cornelius July 1st, 2008 at 4:40 am

KNNBCCB!
I can just go and die now… thanks

George July 2nd, 2008 at 10:40 pm

Rob its their lives but its MY £50 that I have paid to watch them on Tuesday!

It was the worst concert I have ever been to! No atmosphere, didnt play any of the songs I went to hear(and please spare me the ‘fan’ comments, if they want only the fans to go they wouldnt sell 30 thousand tickets for each show!), they were arrogant and a weird Save Tibet chant!

George July 2nd, 2008 at 10:42 pm

And on top of that to see that they played Karma Police on Wednesday makes the whole experience even more dissapointing and irritating for me!

You wont believe what a bad taste I had in my mouth whilst leaving the show!

I NO LONGER LIKE RADIOHEAD!

Vortex July 2nd, 2008 at 10:59 pm

Maybe the people who enjoyed Karma Police hasn’t actually seen them play the song before…i know how you guys feel….im sure i would feel the same if they played Creep (even though i’ve never seen it live..can’t be bothered also really).

At the end of the day…they are entertainers…they are supposed to make people happy (to a certain extend). If they were just going to play songs for themselves, then they are wankers. (In Rob’s book…they’ve got balls).

Like you George, i paid £42.50 quid on top of that flew all the way from Singapore to London.
But i was determined not to leave the gig disappointed just cause they played Karma police, paranoid android or any other song people deem to be ’sell outs’ top 10 hits.

I had my own fun at least. Sorry that some of you guys didn’t enjoy the gig. Oh well…every band / musician has their good and bad days. Like they say…”not everyday sunday” :)

George July 3rd, 2008 at 3:08 am

For me they showed a ‘wannabee a revolutionist’ attitude, which I hate!

Everybody remembered Tibet now because its cool! What about all the other places in the world where bad things happen??

Save the environment concert??? What a load of crap! The whole area in and around the park was a mess from garbage!!

And another thing. Karma Police a sell out?? Please.. I went to Depeche Mode and the played Enjoy the silence. Are they sellouts?? Come on..

George July 3rd, 2008 at 3:09 am

I HATE RADIOHEAD! Selfish bustards!

GentleGiant September 20th, 2008 at 6:17 pm

George July, you can’t hear the rhythm for the drums! I saw them myself and it was one of the times of my life.
Get a life, man! You can choose less hostility!
