And my roots are all in pretty much ‘extreme’ music. Hardcore, metal, punk…you know the score. And I’m proud to say that those music are my roots! (though i’m kinda embarrassed to hear my own band’s recordings from back in the day haha. Yes i did have a band). Growing up in that era, most of the music i was into was deemed either ’satanic’ or ‘drug-related’. Obviously, that wasn’t the truth. On the contrary, it was quite the opposite with the hardcore punk music i was into. It was about having a message, having a purpose, and actually making change! It fueled my passion for music even more in my life, to want to make things happen!

This month, i finally caught one of my favourite metal bands of all time, AMON AMARTH. Been listening to them since 1998. A good 10 years now. I was kinda disappointed that they played such a short set. They seriously deserve a much longer set, but oh well…Slayer was the headliner not them plus there was Trivium and Mastodon on the lineup. Seriously, Amon amarth should have been the ones to play right before Slayer. The organiser needs to rework on their programming, cause it’s rubbish! It just left me wanting more only after watching them. I’d just have to catch them on another tour where they are headlining!

Ok fine…so i do like their style of metal. Abit mainstream..but what the heck. Better than Mastodon at least. Check out the epic intro. They are kinda like a newskool metallica…very similar to Bullet For My Valentine as well.

And the main band…SLAYER.
I’m glad they still play south of heaven…which was the first track i heard from them.

Usually through photos. So anyways, i’ll do the same here.

Learnt to cook some new dishes this month. Namely, our good old Hainanese chicken rice, Laksa and Nasi Lemak.

I actually felt ANGRY after watching it!

One thing being so obvious that it’s propaganda, nevermind.
But why try to discourage people from going overseas?
When at the very same time, they are encouraging foreign talent to go over.
You don’t see other countries trying to stop their people from going overseas.
I certainly hope such propaganda will only cause a opposite reaction from our citizens.
Come on, this isn’t the 70’s or 80’s anymore. The people do know it’s propaganda.
There’s already so much resentment on the streets about foreign talent.
So why discourage people from being foreign talents, themselves?!
Yes, alot of us overseas might miss our food. But come on, you think we dumb ah?
We can learn to cook it ourselves. Even bigger sense of accomplishment after that if u ask me!

Just doing a search on google for “Sense of Home Singapore“, will just show you the amount of people who think the same about this show.
I guess MDA didn’t expect it to backfire on them eh?

I’m not even going to talk about the bad acting!

I’d just like to say that, everyone should try to live / work in another country in their lifetime!
It’s an invaluable experience which all should do! So DO IT!

To sum it up….things have changed quite abit in the past month. Been quite busy.
Had a few friends coming over to London (and even more this weekend and next).
Didn’t do much photography, sadly.

Been partying way too much. Played 3 sets in 2 nights over last weekend.
Quite happy to say that i got to play at Rhythm Factory, which is a proper club.
Got to play with N-Type, Reso, Distance, Remarc and more.

I have also moved house this month. Still somewhere in East London.
Weather is getting colder here…but not that bad yet, as we know it can get really bad soon enough.
