Thoughts about Apple iPad:
“Why did they made a bigger iPhone when they just had to do a smaller Macbook?”
Funky DL - I Love My Life
One of my favourite tunes from a UK Hip hop LP from 1999….
Our next release on Qilin Music will be a minimal deep drum & bass roller from Muted (Iceland)
So i recently took a trip to Suffolk in between the Xmas and New Years period. Here’s some shots from the trip.

Izaak Stern is on a journey across musical tangents, where nothing is prescribed and nothing is certain. With an experimental modus operandi (which often
results unconsciously in an “experimental” end product), the producer views beatmaking as an exploratory process.
Izaak Stern’s sound is constantly evolving from the humble confines of his bedroom, as exploration also means constant education. Any release that
will follow this EP will very likely sound substantially disparate, and the same applies
for any body of work that follows.
In the vein of Prefuse 73, Burial and Flying Lotus, Izaak Stern always attempts
juxtapositions between analog and digital elements. By working with both an with
laptop-based instruments, live instruments, analogue synthesizers and very importantly, samples from dusty vinyl records, Izaak Stern’s approach involves a nosedive into whatever works to secure specific sounds.
Signed to Qilin in 2009, the ever-evolving sound of Izaak Stern has joined the ranks
of drum ‘n’ bass and electronica producers spanning the globe. The producer’s
faceless emergence from the depths of the underground brings an experimental
flavour that the New York Post says “will leave you cotton-mouthed for more.”
Last night’s Numbers / Elevator Music launch party at Fabric was way too much! Too much good music! It’s seriously beyond refreshing getting a night of only the freshest cutting edge music that London has to offer to the world!
2010 is looking set to blow up with proper future bass music like only London has!
It’s a London ting!
In no particular order:
Fresh - Heavyweight
D Bridge - Wonder Where
Lynx & Kemo - Deez Breaks
Dirtyphonics - Lottery
Instramental - Sepia Tones EP
Kiat & Sinistarr - Black Diamonds
DJ Stretch - Papa Lover (Serum Remix)
Friction & K Tee - Set it off
Alix Perez - I’m Free

A pretty big year for drum & bass if you ask me…more styles coming through..more albums!! Bring on 2010!
One of the best mix cds also came out in 2009, the Fabric Live mix by Commix. One of the best mixes and selection i’ve heard in a long long time.
Merry Xmas to all of you across the universe!
Shall leave you with a song from The Beatles “Across The Universe”
———————————
Words are flying out like
endless rain into a paper cup
They slither while they pass
They slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow waves of joy
are drifting thorough my open mind
Possessing and caressing me
Jai guru deva om
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Images of broken light which
dance before me like a million eyes
That call me on and on across the universe
Thoughts meander like a
restless wind inside a letter box
they tumble blindly as
they make their way across the universe
Jai guru deva om
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Sounds of laughter shades of life
are ringing through my open ears
exciting and inviting me
Limitless undying love which
shines around me like a million suns
It calls me on and on across the universe
Jai guru deva om
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Jai guru deva
